Community engagement and support

Listening First

Our approach to community engagement begins with consultation and conversation. We regularly connect with families, individuals, grassroots groups, and places of worship to understand:

What stops people from participating in sport
What support they need to get involved

Our Community Work Includes:

Outreach

We work directly with underrepresented communities, schools, and organisations to raise awareness of local sporting opportunities and build trust between communities and the sport sector.

Culturally Sensitive Programming

We support the design and delivery of inclusive sport sessions (e.g. women-only, faith-friendly timings, culturally appropriate venues) based on the needs of the community.

Representation & Advocacy

We amplify the stories and needs of communities so that decision-makers and organisations can better understand and support ethnically diverse participants.

Connecting & Signposting

Through our networks, we signpost individuals and groups to sports clubs, funding opportunities, training, and events that match their interests and needs.

Recent Community Projects

Sudanese School Cardiff – Supporting Arabic-speaking children to access regular sport sessions and secure funding for long-term delivery.

Consultation Events – Hosting sport taster sessions and feedback forums to hear directly from ethnically diverse families with disabled children.

Mosque & Faith Centre Partnerships – Working with local mosques to introduce sport to young people and support culturally sensitive delivery.
